X International Middle East Conference to Launch Next Tuesday, Organized by the Mokha Center for Strategic Studies and Istanbul Gelisim University

The 10th International Middle East Conference is set to open next Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in Istanbul, convening a distinguished assembly of academics, researchers, and international experts to deliberate on prospects for regional stability and the future of the Middle East amid sweeping geopolitical transformations.
The conference is jointly organized by the Mokha Center for Strategic Studies and Istanbul Gelisim University, in cooperation with a network of research centers, political science and international relations departments, and the Yemeni Students Union in Türkiye.

Participants will engage with the overarching theme of “Future Expectations”, examining the political and social landscape of the Middle East through rigorous academic inquiry. Key topics on the agenda include the structural roots of regional conflicts, irregular migration, terrorism, sovereignty disputes, and energy security — issues that continue to define the region’s trajectory.

The conference aspires to yield concrete analytical insights and actionable recommendations in service of peace and security, drawing on multidisciplinary research across history, political science, economic development, and human rights.
Proceedings will be conducted in three languages — Arabic, Turkish, and English. Accepted papers will be published in the official conference proceedings under Istanbul Gelisim University Publications, with distinguished contributions nominated for publication in indexed academic journals — offering a substantive resource for policymakers, academic institutions, and media organizations alike.
