Call for Papers: Annual Strategic Report 2024

Dear Researchers on Yemeni Affairs,

The Mokha Center for Strategic Studies is dedicated to closely examining and analyzing the current situation in Yemen, including its local, regional, and international interactions. We aim to provide accurate information and in-depth analyses grounded in scientific methods and objective perspectives. Our goal is to support decision-makers, political leaders, and those involved with Yemeni affairs in gaining a comprehensive understanding of the complex Yemeni landscape, enabling them to make well-informed decisions.

In this context, the Mokha Center is pleased to invite you to contribute to the annual strategic report for 2024. We are looking for contributions on the following topics:

1. Developments in domestic politics and foreign relations.
2. Education and scientific research.
3. Media and cultural scene.
4. Transformations of identity and society.
5. Women and children’s issues.
6. Public services (health, electricity, communications).
7. Climate and environmental changes.

Writing Guidelines :

1. Your report should be created specifically for the Mokha Center for Strategic Studies. It should be well-supported with information and data, and all references and sources must be clearly documented.
2. Stick to a single topic and field without diverging into other areas.
3. Your analysis should cover the entire geography of Yemen, without exception.
4. The report should cover events and data exclusively from the year 2024, from January 1 to December 31. Historical context is acceptable only if briefly necessary.
5. Provide in-depth analysis of events, facts, and data. Avoid just describing what happened; aim for objectivity and impartiality in your analysis.
6. Include recent, diverse, and reliable sources, and document them thoroughly.
7. Include brief summaries, future outlooks, and recommendations in your report.
8. Submissions should be written in proper Arabic, with each section containing between 2,500-3,000 words. The text must use Traditional Arabic font, size 16, with margins set at size 14. Page numbers should be placed at the bottom, with independent numbering for each page.
9. Researchers will receive a financial reward once their paper is accepted, peer-reviewed, and finalized.
10. Follow the reference model used in previous reports issued by the center.
11. Researchers with previous published work will be given priority.

Financial Reward: A $500 reward will be granted for research accepted for publication.

Submission Period: September 18, 2024 – September 30, 2024

Notification of Acceptance: October 11, 2024 – October 15, 2024
